5 Ingredient Keto Coffee Smoothie Recipe - Easy & Delicious

This easy keto coffee smoothie recipe is perfect for cooling down while waking up on hot summer days. Like a true Starbucks Frappuccino, this low-carb, sugar-free iced coffee shake is completely customizable. It's a great alternative to your standard bulletproof coffee recipe.

Our version is based on a mocha smoothie but can quickly be transformed into a mocha protein shake by adding a scoop of chocolate-flavored protein powder. Perhaps you're experimenting with a dairy-free lifestyle? No problem, substitute full-fat coconut milk for the heavy cream and thin to desired consistency with almond milk.

This recipe is great because it takes less time to prepare than it does to brew a fresh pot of coffee. The day before you make this recipe the first time, make an extra cup of strong coffee and freeze it in ice cube trays. After your first sip, you'll most likely be keeping coffee ice cubes in the freezer on hand at all times so you can enjoy this low-carb coffee smoothie whenever you'd like. Now, let's get into the process!

The Process

Keto Coffee Smoothie Ingredients

We're starting strong with the keto whipped cream topping because who doesn't like starting out the morning acting extra.

Add ½ cup heavy whipping cream to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment. You can also use a hand mixer or regular whisk if you don't have a stand mixer.

Mix on medium-high for 1-2 minutes or just until soft peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip, or else you'll end up with butter!

Now you can add 1/8 tsp of liquid stevia to sweeten the whipped cream. Optionally, you could also add 1/8 tsp of vanilla extract for extra flavor. Turn the mixer down to medium-low speed and slowly mix just until stiff peaks form. Taste, adjust as needed, and reserve for later.

To make the keto coffee smoothie, combine the frozen coffee ice cubes, heavy cream, unsweetened cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and liquid stevia in a blender and blend on high until smooth. Pour the smoothie into a tall glass, top with the keto whipped cream, and enjoy!!

Customizations

As mentioned up top, this smoothie is very customizable.

Looking for more protein? Add in a spoonful of peanut butter, almond butter, or any other seed or nut butter. Or, if you have powders on hand, add a scoop of protein or collagen to the mix before blending. You could also try adding one tablespoon of MCT oil to the mix for additional fat content.
