A lot has changed over the last century, except for one thing: our dedication to making the finest handcrafted beef jerky anywhere.

In 1929, our great-grandfather John Bianchetti founded People’s Choice with nothing more than a few dollars, a handful of family recipes and an indomitable will to succeed. His vision was to build a neighborhood butcher shop that sold premium meats with honesty, hard work and personal relationships.

1929

Our founder John Bianchetti opens People's Choice Market in the heart of downtown LA.

1939

With a growing portfolio of premium meat products, the business upgrades its name to People's Sausage Company and moves from San Pedro Street to our current location on E. Pico Blvd.

1955

After serving in the Korean War, second-generation Paul Bianchetti joins the business.

1964

People's Sausage Company expands beyond serving the local neighborhood and begins distributing to restaurants across Los Angeles.

1978

Alongside his father and grandfather, third-generation Mark Bianchetti joins the business.

1987

Mark sees a growing opportunity in the snack food realm and focuses the company on a single offering. People's Choice Beef Jerky is born.

2013

Fourth-generation Brian Bianchetti joins the company.

2014

With demand for our all-natural, premium beef jerky growing, People's Choice starts selling online and shipping to all 50 states.

2017

People's Choice welcomes our first female family member – fourth-generation Sara Bianchetti, joining her brother and father.

Today

The tradition continues with new flavors and styles – handcrafted with the same pride and passion we've built our name on for over 90 years.
